The Waites Spraying Process

Every project at Waites Spraying follows a clear, proven process designed to deliver consistent results, minimise disruption, and ensure a high-quality finish, whether we’re respraying a kitchen, refreshing a home interior, or applying industrial coatings to commercial premises.

You can take a look at our spraying process below as well as some of the frequently asked questions we get asked. If you have further questions, we’d be delighted to hear from you – just call us on 01733 711017.

Our Process

1

Initial Enquiry & Consultation

We begin by discussing your project requirements, timescales and expectations. This may involve a site visit for domestic or commercial projects, or an assessment of items brought to our spray workshop for furniture or kitchen components. This stage allows us to understand surfaces, usage demands, and any specialist finishes required.
2

Detailed Quotation & Scheduling

Following assessment, we provide a clear, itemised quotation with no obligation. Once approved, we schedule the work at a time that suits you. For kitchens and industrial environments in particular, careful planning helps minimise downtime and disruption.
3

Preparation & Protection

Preparation is key to a professional spray finish. On site, we carefully mask and protect surrounding areas, floors and fixtures. Where appropriate, items such as kitchen doors, drawers, furniture or panels may be removed for off-site spraying at our dedicated spray facility to achieve the best possible finish.
4

Specialist Spray Application

Using professional spray systems and high-quality coatings, we apply finishes suitable for the environment and level of wear. This may include fine furniture finishes, durable domestic coatings, or hard-wearing industrial and protective systems designed for high-traffic or demanding commercial settings.
5

Curing, Quality Control & Reassembly

Sprayed items are allowed to cure correctly before being checked for consistency, coverage and finish quality. Any components sprayed off-site are returned and carefully refitted, ensuring everything aligns, functions correctly and looks as it should.
6

Final Checks & Tidy

Once spraying is complete, we remove all masking, clean down the area and leave the site tidy. We carry out final inspections with care, ensuring the finished work meets our standards and your expectations.
7

Completion & Aftercare

We walk you through the completed work and provide guidance on aftercare where needed. Our finishes are designed to last, and we’re always happy to offer advice to help you maintain the result for years to come.

Questions?

Why is spray painting kitchen cabinets better than hand painting?
Kitchen spray painters provide a professional finish rather than a hand painted finish that will leave brush stroke or dimpled roller makes. This is a professional skill technique that uses specialist products and professional spray guns. When you see the results for yourself, it is clear that the finish is far better than traditional methods. We take pride in giving you a brand new finish that will transform your kitchen. It also helps reduce good kitchen units going to waste in landfill.
What is the cost of kitchen spray painting?
The cost of a complete kitchen respray will range from £1,000 to £5,000. The cost is dependent on factors such as kitchen size, the quantity of cabinets, and the extent of areas to be sprayed. For an exact quote, get in touch with Waites Painting & Decorating so we can arrange a quick visit to measure up and then get costings to you.
What towns and areas do you cover for kitchen spraying?
We work across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Oundle, Corby, Kettering, Rutland, and Leicestershire.
How long does spraying kitchen cabinets take?
This depends on the size, shape and condition of the kitchen, but it usually takes between a week and 10 days to finish.
How long does the paint last?
This is a durable finish that lasts about 10 to 15 years, which can take the usual impacts of daily life in the kitchen. This means it can extend the life of your existing kitchen by 10 – 15 years.
How long does the spray paint take to dry?
The spray paint is touch dry in 1 to 2 hours. The paint takes 21 days to cure. So we ask you not to wipes or clean the cabinets in the first 3 weeks.
Is kitchen spraying right for me?
If your existing kitchen has structural integrity and functions well, but is not visually appealing, your choice is to replace units and doors, or to bring in professional kitchen spray painters. Even for a kitchen that has damage, a strategic repair and professional respray, will prove to be more cost-effective than opting for a new replacement kitchen. If the layout for a kitchen respray is £1,000 to £5,000 but the cost of a new kitchen is £1,000 to £5,000 to £25,000 you can soon see the savings.

My kitchen looks brand new from the spraying, a cheaper alternative to getting a whole new refitted kitchen. Their prices are more than competitive in comparison to anyone else and the finish is excellent.
