Our Approach to MDF Spraying
MDF can produce a stunning finish, but it needs the right preparation. The key challenge is that MDF edges are highly absorbent and can “fur” or drink in coatings if they’re not sealed properly. We take the time to prepare faces and edges correctly, to include: sanding, cleaning, sealing and priming so the topcoats lay down smoothly and cure into a hard-wearing finish.
We then apply a professional spray system (primer + topcoats) in controlled conditions, with light de-nibbing/sanding between coats where required to keep everything crisp and flat. This method produces a more even finish across profiles, corners and mouldings, and helps achieve consistent colour and sheen across larger runs.
Finish options include: matt, eggshell, satin and other durable finishes, with custom colour matching available to suit your décor or existing joinery.

Undertaking Your Project
Once you accept the quote, we’ll schedule the work and agree the best approach. If items are being sprayed off-site, we’ll arrange removal/collection, label everything carefully, and keep you updated on progress. If spraying is carried out on-site, we protect surrounding areas thoroughly with masking and coverings, set up safely, and work in a controlled, tidy way to minimise disruption.
After spraying, items are allowed to dry and cure correctly before we complete final checks, refit where required, and leave everything clean and presentable.
